Aashirvad Cinemas has established itself as the most successful production house in Malayalam by producing several of the highest-grossing Malayalam films of all time, such as Narasimham (2000), Rasathanthram (2006), Drishyam (2013), Oppam (2016), Odiyan (2018), and Lucifer (2019).[2] It has also produced three of the most expensive Malayalam films — Odiyan (2018), Lucifer (2019), and Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (2020).

Aashirvad Cinemas has won several awards, including two National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards and a Filmfare Awards South. In 2019, Aashirvad Cinemas opened office in Hong Kong with the name Feitian Aashirvad Cinemas and signed an agreement with a Chinese film production company to co-produce and distribute films in China. Aashirvad Cinemas is the currently the biggest production company in Mollywood such as to make big budget like Odiyan (₹30 crore), Lucifer (₹35 crore) and Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (₹100 crore)

Friday Film House is an Indian film production company based in Malayalam film industry owned by Vijay Babu who is an actor as well as a producer and is one of the most talked about production houses in the south.[1][2] The production house was started by Sandra Thomas along with Vijay Babu. Though the company was established after the release of Friday which was solely produced by Sandra, the movie is considered as its first production venture. On January 3, 2017, Sandra had taken a break from the industry and withdrew from Friday Film House. Friday Film House has won 7 of the Kerala State Film Awards in various fields in 2014. It has its own distribution division – "Friday Tickets", digital/TV production under the brand "Friday Home Cinema" and music under "Friday Music Company". Notable projects include Aadu series, Angamaly DiariesPhilips and the Monkey PenJuneAdi Kapyare Kootamani and Thrissur Pooram

Udaya Pictures is the oldest film production studio in the Malayalam film industry of India. It was established in 1947 by director-producer Kunchacko (1912–1976) and film distributor K. V. Koshy in Pathirappally, Alappuzha in Kerala.[1] The studio influenced the gradual shift of Malayalam film industry from its original base of Madras, Tamil Nadu to Kerala, now considered a milestone in the history of Malayalam film industry.[2][3] The first film of the studio was Vellinakshatram (1949).[4]

The films produced at the studio were produced under the banner of K & K Combines, and later under Excel Productions (also spelt X. L. Productions). Udaya's professional rivalry with P. Subramaniam's Merryland Studio was quite famous.[5
